| The Guilang was the first
of many Infinity miniatures I've bought – various things
in the range had interested me, but way back in the day before
I started collecting any Infinity, it was the Ghost Wolf that
grabbed me enough to want to buy. Assembly was a bit fiddly –
the left arm is its own piece, and lining that up with the right
arm / gun and the body wasn't particularly easy... review

About this item:
The Guilang Scouts (Ghost Wolves) are the special Arctic branch of the Yu Jing State army. In order to graduate they must pass an eight month course somewhere lost in the Huangdi Peninsula, under heavy weather conditions. Their training, very complete, is adapted to the corps operational profile. The Guilang carry out missions that could include aquatic or airborne operations, infiltration, camouflage, artillery forward observation and movement through rocky and snowy terrain, etc... that are always carried out under terrible Fimbul storms of Svalarheima. Only the Guilang are able to treat this hell as routine Contents:

If you're any good with a drill bit, I'd recommend pinning at
least one of the shoulder joints – when the arms broke off
during painting, I had to do just that, but would rather I'd done
it at the assembly stage. Otherwise, it was fine, with no flash
or mould line issues.
Painting was great fun – the
official paint scheme was already really good so I didn't stray
from it too far, and I'm really happy with the results –
the mini's quite small – in the world of 28mm minis that
are more like 30-32mm, Infinity stuff probably actually is 28mm
and it kinda feels it – everything is just that tiny bit
finer... it was nevertheless a lovely mini to paint with lots
of opportunities for some nice clean armour plates and of course
various sci-fi glowing lights that make Infinity stuff stand out
from other miniature ranges.
In the game I've had using him, he
did pretty well – I've used him as a lieutenant to lead
my 200 points, and took good advantage of it's camouflage, hiding
in a ruin with my sniper rifle toting ninja chick – I even
managed to get some use out of its mines! At only 25 points and
a WIP of 14, its a pretty cheap way to lead a small army, and
the mini looks cool while doing so – the only negative thing
about it is you're only ever allowed to take 1, and they come
with some good alternative weapon and equipment options... but
with the release of 2 differently armed Hac Taos (who also have
an availability of 1), I can but hope that we'll see a Guilang
with as Multi Sniper Rifle at some point on the near future...!
