Delivery details and postage options

IMPORTANT NOTE - your choice of postal service does not affect the processing time of your order, it is simply the method by which goods are despatched to you.

All orders from customers in the
United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands) receive free postage. as standard, parcels being sent by 2nd Class post OR Standard Parcels depending on parcel weight. Customers in the UK can opt for 1st Class post, or choose from Recorded or Special Delivery if they want the peace of mind of a Signed For service.

Overseas orders are subject to a flat charge regardless of order size. Again, this can be upgraded to Insured Airmail to include a Signed For service (International Signed For). Please note, some items are too bulky to be sent overseas and this will be advised in the detailed description page for the item concerned.

UK Orders:
Freepost - applies to all orders unless another option is selected: Cost per order £0.00
1st Class Post
: Cost per order £3.50
Special Delivery: (Up to £500 compensation, signature on delivery, online confirmation): Cost per order £7.95

Overseas Orders (EU and Rest of World):
Airmail: (Up to £39 compensation): Cost per order £4.95
International Signed For: (Up to £250 compensation, signature on delivery, online confirmation): Cost per order £10.95

N.B. Please note that all orders are processed as per the scheduling notes below and these are not affected by your choice of delivery type - this is simply the method under which your goods are despatched.

What are your processing schedules?

Orders are processed according to the stock status of items included. Each product on the site features a stock status, with the following timescales applicable:

Stock Status = IN STOCK: This item is available from stock. Items with this designation are usually sent within 2-9 working days of your order being received and / or clearance of your payment.

In Stock = ORDER IN: This item is not held in stock, but is readily available through the UK distribution network and is ordered in from the relevant distributor / manufacturer. Items with this designation are usually sent within 5-20 working days of your order being received and / or clearance of your payment.

In Stock = BACKORDER: This item is currently out of stock. It is on order with suppliers, but there is no confirmed date for availability.

In Stock = PREORDER: This item has not yet been released. It is expected into stock on the date shown, but please note that dates provided are subject to change and rely on manufacturers and distributors meeting their published or advised schedules.

Please note these schedules apply irrespective of the delivery method selected at checkout.

For purposes of despatch schedules, 'working days' refers to 9.00a.m. to 5.30p.m. Monday to Friday. Orders received outside those times will be considered to have been received on the next applicable working day. Please note that all scheduled turnaround times are indicative rather than guaranteed and can be affected by supply / demand. Please also see our Delivery information page for details on postal schedules.

Delivery schedules for Royal Mail differ depending on what service you choose for fulfilment of your order - please see notes below.

Due to the increasing costs of post within the UK, orders are not split. If you require some items ahead of others (i.e. those in stock as opposed to preorder) please make separate orders if possible.

How are orders packed?

All orders are sent either in a padded (i.e. bubble wrap) envelope or a sturdy cardboard box depending on contents / size. Delicate items such as books / magazines / brushes etc will also be reinforced with cardboard to try and prevent damage en route.

Due to the Royal Mail's weight / size restrictions, your order may be sent in multiple parcels - we'll let you know if this is the case in your despatch notification email.

Please note that we cannot be held responsible for damage inflicted on package contents, but if you return the damaged goods to us we'll provide replacements free of charge.

I'm an overseas customer - are there any additional charges?

Overseas customers (i.e. those outside the UK) may be subject to import of customs charges. These vary according to country and we are not liable for them. Please note that parcels outside the EU must be covered by a UK CN22 Customs form.

Postal schedules

Royal Mail allow the following maximum delivery schedules BEFORE they will consider an item as missing / lost - please bear this in mind when making an enquiry as we're reiiant on their delivery fulfilment once goods have been posted.

Within the UK:
1st Class / Special Delivery normally delivered with 1-2 working days. 2nd Class please allow 3-5 working days. All UK post has a maximum delivery schedule of up 15 working days AFTER the expected due date, irrespective of delivery type used.

Overseas - Europe:
Normally delivered within 3-10 working days depending on location. All EU post has a maximum delivery schedule of up to 20 working days AFTER the expected due date, irrespective of delivery type used.

Overseas - Rest of World:
Normally delivered within 5-14 working days depending on location. All ROW post has a maximum delivery schedule of up to 25 working days AFTER the expected due date, irrespective of delivery type used.

If your order hasn't been received within the timeframes shown above, you should advise us in writing (email is fine) quoting your order reference. Replacement items will be despatched to you by a registered postal service. Please note that if you haven't opted for Recorded /Special Delivery (or International Signed For in the case of overseas orders) we cannot offer a refund, only replacement items.

Due to the size of some packages, and the ways either Signed For or Special Delivery post istreated, it's often the case that the parcel has been retained at a sorting office (although you should receive an 'Attempted Delivery' card, oftentimes these aren't left) so it's always worth a call to your local postal depot to see if they're holding any items for you.
