Tankhunters
Item Code: 280102-0002 About this item: The Regiment of Tankhunters is formed by units equipped with anti tank weapons and is specialised in the destruction of heavily armoured troops. The philosophy of the regiment is that the only way to get a good tankhunter is to submit him to such a hard training course that he feels proud to have survived it. Their modus operandi is based on ambush and lightning attacks, withdrawing and dispersing with speed before the enemy can locate them. This equipment is technically inferior to the equivalent of heavy troops from the rest of the Human Sphere, but the use of Tesseum makes the armour plates as good as the standard PanOceanic ones. Those who wear the Cherkessa, the heavy Ariadna uniform, are all hardened non commissioned officers. With or without command powers, they are the most popular men and women when they go on patrols. They are elite long distance recon units, trained in the Kazak Spetsnaz Shkola. As elite observer and recon troops, they are specialists in survival, infiltration, reconnassaince, evasion and clandestine recovery of personnel and material. Their main task is to enter, and get out of, enemy territory without being detected. Scouts can move through the deep forest of Ariadna as silently as a breeze. Their primary job is to control the movement of the tribes of the alien Antipodes, and observe the beachheads of enemy invasions. But when HQ needs a dirty job done they do missions of infiltration and sabotage, with the goal of causing maximum damage to the enemy, behind his own lines. They may not be as well equipped as their equivalent in other armies, but they are perfectly trained, do their duty and know the region. The line troops consider themselves the true elite and indeed when things get tough they do more than their fair share of the work. Kazak, or cossack, is the predominant ethnic group of these units and as a general rule their tradition is Russian Cossack. However, they also recruit members from other Ariadna minorities.
